Meet Toni Teixeira

Toni Teixeira lives in New Jersey, but is still a Brooklyn girl at heart. Her first poem at age 9, exploring grief and loss after her father’s death, hooked her on writing and destined her to become a psychotherapist. In her telehealth private practice, Strong at the Core Counseling she helps women change their own narratives so that they can heal from sexual violence, grief, depression and anxiety.

Toni mostly writes on, and is passionate about, self-care and mental health and can be seen in Authority Magazine and UpJourney online. Toni holds a Master’s of Social Work from New York University and Master’s in Psychology from Hunter College and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Brooklyn College. She has also taught college Psychology courses and is a former Sexual Assault Response Coordinator for the US Navy.
