Meet Lauren Rutkin

Lauren Rutkin is a Maplewood resident, mom to three kids ages 14, 15, and 19 (and one crazy dog) and wife to her life’s partner for all things – (Rabbi) Matthew Gewirtz. She grew up in Connecticut, received her B.A. from the University of Vermont, and did a post-graduate year teaching English in underserved communities in Israel. This transformative experience led to her professional choices creating change in both local and global communities.

Lauren spent her first professional decade working for a host of not-for-profit organizations, in addition to starting her own consulting firm. She is now the executive director of a philanthropic foundation and manages the volunteer, philanthropic & DEI programing for a financial services firm.

Lauren loves politics (although screams at the television) and cherishes good coffee, movies and theater, the outdoors, singing loudly, delicious ice cream, and watching her kids do just about anything.
